Cradle of Solitude
Aristotle said, "Whoever delights in solitude is either a wild beast or a god." I am certainly neither, yet I delight in the peace and the space and the freedom I find in being alone with the Creator. Perhaps I am more Omar Khayyam's "thoughtful soul (whom) to solitude retires."
This was the view on a stormy morning at Ealaghol (Elgol), a pretty village on the shores of Loch Scavaig, on the Strathaird peninsula, Isle of Skye. Looking up into the Cuillin mountains, with the wind tearing up the loch and not a soul around - heaven!
